One Day at a Time

I'm pretty sure I've used that title before, but my wit and creativity does have its limits. (shocking, I know!) Jamie had a good day today, she keeps plugging along in all her therapies. She was able to "walk" four or five times through the bars again today, so she is working on her endurance.  It sounds like she was pretty smiley today, which we all love to hear.

We are still waiting to hear from orthopedics about Jamie's arm - we know she has had the hard cast on almost 3 weeks, and they took x-rays last weekend, but we don't know how long the cast still has left.  Jamie got another x-ray today, but this time it was of the IVF filter she has that protects her from blood clots.  That will probably be looked at tomorrow, I think it is just a maintenance thing.

We got news today that Jamie is changing rehab programs.  Essentially, she will be getting more aggressive therapies because of her progress.  She will still be getting three hours a day, six days a week, but her goals will be different and more improvement will be expected.  As far as we understand, this is a good thing and another step forward in her recovery.  I'm not sure what this will practically look like, so we'll just have to wait and see.

That's all for now, it was a pretty good, "normal" day.  The nurses and PT staff have Jamie on an up/down schedule that seems to be really working out - Jamie is able to get enough time up in her chair and some rest time in her bed.  I think this has been good to get Jamie up, because then she is tired when she gets back in bed and it is easier for her to rest.  Please continue to pray for Jamie's strength, that she slowly build up her stamina and that just continues to build on all the skills she is gaining back.  Also, I think it's time to start praying that Jamie come off her GT tube.  She will have to show she can really eat solid foods and digest them well before this can happen.  So pray for that!!

We are so thankful for God's faithfulness.  We see Him at every turn, in every blessing and every challenge.  My prayer for all of you is that you see Him in Jamie's recovery.

Love, Us.
